Bistro Bulgaria - Sunday Roast

With a dull, wet Sunday being forecast, I along with some friends, decided to book in and try the Sunday Roast at Bistro Bulgaria (on Camposol, Sector B) and we were not disappointed.

I am not one for Sunday lunches in the summer but just every now and again, particularly on a dull wet day, there is something very satisfying about a lovely roast dinner you've not had to cook.

Now where do I start with our experience of this?

Well first and foremost.... Yanka, what a formidable, powerhouse of a lady! With her friendly, no nonsense approach she will bend over backwards to ensure you have a wonderful meal and, more than that, a fantastic experience in her restaurant.

This is one of those restuarants we have used on Camposol a lot, mostly for Birthdays or special celebrations, and their main menu is incredible and some of the more traditional Bulgarian dishes are beautiful! Yanka and her team are only too happy to explain the menu and offer recommendations - the food truly is to die for and there is a great selection, for even the most fussy of eaters.

Anyway, back to our Sunday lunch experience. On messaging Yanka to book our table she was super helpful and accommodating. Two of our party were vegetarians and wanted to order from the main menu, which was not a problem and Yanka just asked that those of us who wanted Sunday roast just let her know in advance which meat we would like.

On arrival Yanka was on great form and really looked after us and made sure we were all happy. She not only ran through the vegetarian menu with my friends but also advised what was possible in addition to the menu - in fact she was happy to adapt anything and made sure they felt fully included in our dining experience.

We sat outside as although it had been torrential rain all morning, it was still very warm and we relaxed and enjoyed a drink, chatting and looking forward to a great meal.

Once our starters arrived and we all went silent. They were so good none of us spoke a word, the whole time we were eating apart from to say wow! The Sunday Roast package can either be 1, 2 or 3 courses and is great value. We opted for the 2 course and had fabulous prawn cocktails and the vegetarian girls had the special starter of bruschetta, with pesto and mozzarella.

For our mains we had Roast Beef, with all the trimmings. The roasted veg was awesome and a great selection of potatoes, parsnips, brussels, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower. This was accompanied by Yorkshire Pudding, stuffing and gravy and was absolutely delicious. Our vegetarian diners had roasted sea bass and the vegetables that accompanied our roast dinner, with the addition of a cheeky portion of chips with Bulgarian cheese and they loved it!

4 very happy, very full ladies, great wine and a really great Sunday afternoon!  Thank you Yanka and the team, you all really smashed it and we will be back!

If you would like to reserve a table, please check out their facebook page and get in touch with them. We would recommend this place all day long, both the normal menu and, most certainly, their roast dinners!

Un Saludo

P.S. Massive blogger error but I actually forgot to take photos of the mains, as we all just wanted to tuck right in, but I promise you they were presented beautifully and cooked to perfection!
