One of the absolute key reasons for me moving to Spain was the feeling of community, the fantastic foods available and the general social life being so heavily influenced by good local food & drink and the awesome local businesses providing it. 

I was lucky that when I first moved here I already had friends in the area who would provide me tips and recommendations of local bars and restaurants but there has been one constant, outstanding resource that has taken me to places I'd never of found and given me the opportunity to try new, outstanding, quality delights.

Let me introduce to you to the Facebook group and social media gateway to everything foodie in Mazarr贸n and our surrounding areas....

Celebrating food and drink in Puerto de Mazarron and surrounding area 馃挭馃挭

This facebook group has always been a great resource for independent reviews on great places to eat and drink, where to find certain ingredients or bargains to cook with, recipe sharing and lots, lots more. 

Throughout lockdown this became a community sharing their love of food from home. Without the ability to eat out, the vast array of amazing contributions from the community of over 2000 people gave everyone food for thought and bought out the inner chef of many. 

The administrators of this group have dedicated hours of content and admin duties in order to create a platform to really promote local businesses through lockdown, create an intense community spirit and inject some fun into these strange times we all live in. Their positive vibe, sense of fun and inclusive attitude has made this a really special thing to be a part of and contribute to. 

So, if you are already a member keep posting. The impact this group has on the community and businesses is phenomenal and if you are not a member yet join Steve and Adam on their 'YUMMAS' journey through Mazarr贸n - you won't regret it but I guarantee you will put on at least a stone!!!

THE COSTA CALIDA - The Warm Coast

    The Costa Calida is the coastline of Murcia and runs from the North near Alicante, down to the South bordering with Almeria. Well know areas along this coast include the Mar Menor, Aguilas, Mazarron and Cartegena to name just a few. The original airport serving the Costa Calida (on my first arrival) was San Javier, a military airport also serving civilians. Bar Review - Tel's Bar, Camposol

This bar is a great little hangout, with a positive, fun vibe to it and plenty to offer during hot sunny days, late warm evenings and even on the cooler or wetter days. Located on Camposol Sector A, Leanne has a fantastic established team by her side and has been running Tel´s for many years now.  Whether you are looking for a full English breakfast, a quiz, music entertainment or just a good drink and chatter this is a great place for all.   I have spent many an afternoon or evening with friends, enjoying the relaxed environment and a glass of something cold.  Nothing is ever too much trouble for Leanne and I have seen her go out of her way on many occasions for her customers - I've even seen her give some of them a lift home to save them a long walk!
