El Polvorín Beach Club, Bolnuevo

One of my favourite ways to enjoy the beach is relaxing on a comfy lounger, cocktail in hand, the smell of tapas and listening to the giggles and music wafting from a friendly little Chiringuito.

El Polvorín is a wonderful chringuito on Bolnuevo Playa, offering a vast variety of food and drink, as well as bistro tables on the decking in the shade to escape the sun or loungers on the beach to bask in it.

For 7€ a day you can hire a lounger and parasol and enjoy the delights of Bolnuevo Playa.

With plenty of free parking, just across the road, access to this gem is fantastic and everything you might need for a wonderful day at the beach is on hand - but arrive early, as they are extremely popular duing high season and they fill up quickly!

The snacks and drinks are very reasonably priced and even if you don't fancy a day lounging on the beach, I would still recommend stopping by and taking in the atmosphere, views and fun of the beach whilst enjoying a coffee or something cooler - I can highly recommend the daiquiri and at 7€ is worth every cent.

The beach itself for the most part is very clean, nice sand and accessible but my only word of warning would be that the water does get very deep all of a sudden and is quite pebbly on the shoreline. Extra care with supervising children and weak swimmers is a must and at peak season there are life guards on duty.

Also, look out for their evening programme. During the summer months, at the weekend, they often offer live music at sundown. A truly beautiful way to end your day.

Situated in the middle of Bolnuevo Playa, the people watching, views and beautiful Med are a great distraction from day to day life. Keep your eyes peeled too, as last time I was there a beautiful pod of dolphins were playing not very far from the shore!

So if you are looking for a friendly welcome and somewhere to enhance your day at the beach, then this is the place to be. Why not check out their facebook page for more information and plan your next beach day?!
