Chica de Mazarrón on Tour - Siam Beach

So, this time last week I was in Altea having a catch up with friends I hadn't seen since before lockdown.

Having driven up to Altea straight from work on a Friday evening, rather than cooking we decided ordered take out and not worry about cooking so we could all have a glass of wine and a proper good catch up.

We drove into Altea Town and parked up, took a short pleasant stroll along the paseo and headed in the direction of my friends favourite Thai restaurant, Siam Beach.

There is ample parking, that can get quite busy during the height of summer, but just a few hundred yards from the outside terrace with beautiful sea views. This was the perfect place to order our food and enjoy that glass of wine.

This is a friendly, family run business and the owner and his wife (the chef) are honest, friendly hardworking people.

Our English waitress was very polite, engaging and helpful but when Oscar spotted my friends he made a beeline for them and rattled off their regular order to the waitress, without a prompt.

We settled on the terrace with our wine, a bowl of water and treats for the dog and chatted with our waitress and Oscar whilst listening to the sea lap along the coast line.

When our food was ready Oscar's wife brought our food out to our table, along with a large box of fresh gambas that my friends were purchasing from them and we were on our way home.

With four main dishes, jasmine rise and prawn pad thia we were all incredibly full but the food was soooo good that I actually forgot to take any pictures! Our food was still hot when we got home and we hungrily tucked into chicken in Thai green curry, prawns in garlic and pepper, pork with cashew nuts and panang beef curry.

The food was delicious, reasonably priced, the service was second to none and they were extremely accommodating to our special diets - one gluten free and one lactose free and generally dinner dates from hell.

I would highly recommend this restaurant whether you are looking for a cozy indoor restaurant, a beautiful alfresco dining experience with a sea view or to snuggle up at home with authentic, home cooked Thai food like we did - muchas gracias Oscar and the Siam Beach family!

Un saludo

Chica de Mazarrón xx
